AAC Interest Inventory Checklist

What can you do when your tried and true bag of fun tricks are just not engaging your student? We all have had that one student who just doesn’t respond to any of our regular games and activities. Or maybe you’ve had that student who quickly loses interest in your activities and you feel like every 2 minutes you have to change games. For those students who are challenging to engage, I have found it helpful to send home an Interest Inventory. Getting the family’s perspective on things that interest the student can give you new ideas. When we have an activity that is engaging to the student, we are often able to have more productive therapy sessions, which is a win for everyone.
