Coronavirus and Me: FREE Editable Social Story

Suddenly you’re working from home, school has been canceled, you can’t go out to eat, and you have to stay six feet away from everyone. All of these major life changes have been difficult for everyone to adjust to! For our kiddos with disabilities, trying to help them make sense of why their entire world just went topsy turvy is challenging. To help you meet that need, whether you are a parent, special education teacher, speech therapist, or other provider, we created a free coronavirus social narrative story.

Our story, Coronavirus and Me, is broken into 4 smaller stories, which can all be read together or separately depending on the needs and attention span of your child. The sections include:

Why Is My School Closed?

I Can Stay Safe From Germs

Staying at Home Sometimes Makes Me Sad

I Can Be Happy at Home

In addition, there is now a Spanish version of all four parts:
Coronavirus y yo: una narrativa en cuatro partes

The downloadable PDF is ready to just print and go. However, if you want to personalize the story to your specific student or child, download the editable PowerPoint file. In this version, you will have the ability to use the child’s name, the name of their school, their teacher’s or speech therapist’s name, names of friends and neighbors, and list their favorite places and activities! Just look for the blue text that says, “Insert” and change it to your information before you print.
