If you’re looking for AAC training opportunities
I miss going to conferences. There’s something so invigorating about getting away from work for a few days, visiting with my colleagues and professionals from the field, putting my hands on technologies, and learning about all that’s new. But, since COVID has put a damper on in-person events, I’ve come to realize just how awesome virtual instruction can be (saving our time, money, and health), by allowing us to learn from home. We want to share information with you about TWO great conferences coming up that will provide amazing instruction on ‘all things AAC’.
2021 East Tennessee Autism Conference Sessions
The Tennessee Talks team presented four sessions at the 2021 East Tennessee Autism Conference: Find session information, slides, flyers about language development, modeling and implementing AAC, choosing between an iPad and an SGD, and get an introduction to AAC.
AT and ACC in the IEP: A Guide for School Teams
Our Tennessee Talks program staff are often asked ‘where’ and ‘how’ to write AAC into the IEP document, so we decided to research the state and federal regulations to find answers and offer a helpful guide for this process.

Rebecca Hofman from AT4Kids has recorded a great interactive training video on how to edit and customize Proloquo2Go. For anyone starting out using this app it will show you how to edit buttons, folders, and other important customizations you will need to set up the communication app for your students.
