I miss going to conferences. Angela Shofner provided a presentation entitled AAC… How to do it in this crazy school world we are living in, offering many suggestions on how her staff is implementing AAC using a core vocabulary approach throughout the Rutherford County School District. The presentation’s emphasis was how they developed and implemented a plan to ensure goals are being addressed consistently in both the school and therapy settings. The basis of the plan was to provide frequent modeling with AAC devices and core boards to increase the students' learning and language integration.
